For many of us, an internship is our first foray into the corporate world. It’s our first glimpse into life after Mechanical Engineering. It's also a great opportunity to develop those skills you’ll need to further your career. These vital skills can only be fine tuned outside of the classroom. Skills which include: teamwork, leadership, communication and persistence.


You will be assigned to an organization based on your background, skill set and interests. Internships are project-oriented, meaningful to the department and allow you to take responsibility for a major assignment.

You’ll see how rewarding it is to make key contributions to your team’s success. You will also learn communication skills that will help you succeed in the corporate business culture; learn valuable project management techniques. But more importantly, you’ll gain a real competitive edge.

Conditions of internships

Interns are not be considered as a member of the Mechtrade staff and thus shall not be subject to the Mechtrade Staff manual.

The length of an internship is directly related to the needs of the hiring service and is indicated in each internship vacancy. It varies from a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 6 months.

Interns are entitled to receive a monthly allowance after 3 months. The allowance will be adjusted to the different duty stations according to the cost of living index and it will be prorated according to the number of days worked during the month.

All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by the intern.

You must be discreet and keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.
